Two Voices. One Foundation

Liz Allen writes Bible studies and workbooks that guide readers into the Word—examining Scripture, discovering biblical principles, and applying truth to the heart and life.

Beth Robinson writes first-person devotional reflections that invite readers to linger with the Word—presenting biblical truth in an intimate, reflective voice written as though God is speaking personally to the reader. The Beth Robinson devotional voice is not presented as direct revelation or additional Scripture, but as a devotional expression intended to encourage personal reflection on the truth already revealed in God's Word. Whether through study or devotion, both voices share one purpose: to lead the heart deeper into Scripture and closer to God.

THE FAITH THAT WOULD NOT LET GO

Principle — Matthew 7:7-8 NIV “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Explanation Matthew 7:7–8 shows Jesus inviting you into a rhythm of life with God—one shaped by asking, seeking, and knocking. To ask is to come before the Father with humility, speaking honestly about your needs and desires. To seek is to actively align your life with what you are praying for—pursuing wisdom, adjusting habits, and moving toward God’s will. To knock is to persevere in faith, returning again and again to God’s presence with trust that He will open the right doors. Jesus isn’t describing three separate actions but a single posture of ongoing, relational prayer. These verses also reveal the heart of the Father—approachable, attentive, generous, and deeply relational. God invites you to come near, listens when you speak, and responds with what is truly good, not merely what is immediately desired. Persistence doesn’t overcome God’s reluctance; it shapes your character. Asking grows humility, seeking aligns your life with His purposes, and knocking builds endurance and trust. Jesus’ promise—“everyone who asks receives”—invites you to pray boldly, live intention.
